As a family there are many reasons why we love to gather together – for food and fellowship, for celebration and mourning, to join our hearts and voices in prayer, to encourage one another and to learn from one another.
As we gather, our family values are strengthened, reinforced and passed on from one generation to another. We grow both in understanding and in unity, and are equipped and envisioned to go back out and live out our family values in our different contexts.
To this end, we are delighted to have opened booking for our next Gathering event in February 2019.
We will be delving into what it means to have ‘Courage in Community’, as well as worshipping, praying and eating together - what a great opportunity to be together as a family!

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
We have outlined a few FAQs below that have been asked about the event so far. If you have any further questions please get in contact.
Do you have any travel/accommodation advice?
Travel:
Travelling by train is by far the easiest option if possible, as all-day parking spaces in the town's car parks are limited, meaning that you may be required to move your car part way through the day.
There are a number of JustPark parking spaces available within walking distance of the venue.
Download this information sheet for more information about town centre car parks and JustPark.
Accommodation:
It is worth noting that it is likely to be easier to stay in a hotel close to Stansted Airport and catch one of the regular shuttle buses into the town centre, than to find accommodation in the town centre itself. It is also worth looking at Airbnb for options.
Suggested hotels include:
Premier Inn Stansted Airport – shuttle bus runs to airport where you can get a train to Bishop’s Stortford. Limited Parking for night of stay only
Days Inn Stansted Airport – The Welcome Break Services, Bishop's Stortford CM23 5QZ
Travelodge Stansted – Birchanger Lane, Birchanger, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 5ST (limited parking)
For more information on hotels and accommodation, download the information sheet.
Can I bring my staff/church team?
Yes, of course you can, these are ideal days to bring your team to. If you can only bring your full team for one Gathering in the year that is fine. While The Gathering is designed so that each event builds on the previous one, there will still be enough in each programme to be applicable if someone can only attend one Gathering.
Are single day tickets available?
The Gathering is an initiative where a key part of the programme goes through teaching, reflection and discussion based on the theme. Each Gathering will work through three questions, What is? What could be? What will be? over the two days. This means while it is possible to attend and engage fully on the first day, it would be difficult only to attend on the second day and pick up from where we finished on the first day. As a result, tickets are available for the day one and the full two days only.
Overall, we strongly encourage you to get The Gathering dates in your diary as early as possible to help you to plan to attend both days, so that you get the most out of the event.
Is the venue likely to change?
We have been so blessed by Hope Church, Ipswich serving us so well during our Prayer & Equipping days over the last few years and will be running further events there in the future. For our Gatherings we will be looking to use different venues and locations, so please double check booking information before choosing hotels etc. We are excited to be hosting the February Gathering at Community Church Bishop’s Stortford.
