East meets West: Mike Betts update
Over the course of the pandemic, Mike Betts began to form a lot of relationships with other network leaders throughout the world - many of which started through the internet as lockdowns caused meetings to move online. In the summer he was able to catch up with John from Ananias House in person for the first time and record a video sharing how the exciting partnership between Western churches and the godly men and women rising up in the Middle East will have huge impact on the global Church.
Mike says:
One thing I have noticed over the years is that, when God wants to do something that is to bear fruit, He always begins with relationships. I recently had the opportunity to meet with my dear friend John Samara from Ananias House for the first time after two years of communicating through zoom during COVID. Although we praise God for the provision of this technology, nothing can replace actually being together!
We feel that God is leading us to explore working together in a number of ways and are very much waiting before God and looking for his guidance in this. Our time together was very significant and we felt yet further emboldened to take the next steps God leads us into.
In recent years an increasing number of relationships are forming connecting us relationally into the Middle East. Regular online catch-ups for prayer, encouragement and support are happening; we are exploring helping with empowerment projects across many communities affected by numerous kinds of devastating events; and we are beginning to explore working and partnership in an 'East meets West' way, where we bring the strengths we each have to bless and help each other. We cannot go into great detail but we hope that watching this video you will begin to sense the relationship strength of heart and vision that is emerging.
