Jane, Tim and Emma – Liverpool Gospel Plant
Our story so far
2020-21 was not the year you would have planned to move to plant a church, but that is what God has led us into! In the last few months Jane moved here from King’s Lynn (UK) and Tim & Emma from Norwich (UK). Despite many hairy moments where we have witnessed God’s provision we are all at last moved in.
We have been humbled by the warm welcome we have received from other churches of various streams including the two established Newfrontiers churches in Liverpool.
Since 2018 God has sharpened our vision to picture a network of house churches across the city. God has led us to start in Kensington, an inner-city area with a lot of different cultures, students, and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs).
We are now beginning to get to know local people, looking for opportunities to share Jesus through words, works and wonders. We believe God will save people and add them to us and the new church will grow from that, with a local flavour right from the start.
In years to come we hope to be able to encourage and support others as they move into different areas around Liverpool to start similar gospel plants.
Prayer points:
For Tim and Emma to find people open to the gospel on their street and at the school gates; for Jane to find them as she serves alongside other church initiatives in the area.
Growing friendships for all of us, and feeling at home.
Learning the culture and how God wants us to be church here for this community.
