adventure, discipleship, mission
Keen for adventure, discipleship and mission? – ID might be for you!
For the past five years the ID: Intentional Discipleship course has been transforming lives, resourcing churches, and furthering gospel witness across Europe. As we start to look towards the sixth year of ID, we want to invite you to get involved.
You might be an 18 year old, coming to end of college and wondering how you can grow as Christian, learn who you are and be equipped to serve in whatever area of life you go into. ID is for you.
Perhaps you’re ready for a career break, an extended pause for you to consider what works God has for you to step in to and how you might best position yourself to pursue him. ID is for you.
Maybe you’re coming to the end of uni and feel like you want to balance all your learning and experiences with some deep Christian discipleship before you go into the next season of life. ID is for you.
Or perhaps you’re none of those, you’re retired or about to retire and think that as you go into this next season there still so much you’d like to grow in and learn. ID is also for you.
ID consists of four components: a serving placement in a Relational Mission church somewhere in Europe, a year of being mentored by that church, theological teaching and character development, and an over-seas cross cultural mission trip.
You can find out more on our page of the RM website and also check us out on all the big social media platforms. Applications for the coming ID year (Sept. 2019 – July 2020) are now open and the forms can be found on the ID page.
Over the coming months we’ll be posting a number of stories from ID and profiles of particular church placements that we offer. We did the same thing last year, and at the bottom of this post you can check out the placements that we profiled then (some may have changed in the specific details of their placements, but you can get a good idea of what these churches offer).
The Apostle Paul wrote these words to the Colossians: “As you received Christ Jesus, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him, established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.” (2:6-7) That’s a call to all Christian disciples. But if you’re able to take the time out to give year of your life to intentionally pursuing those things – being rooted in your Christian identity, built up in Christ and confident in mission, established in faithful teaching, abounding in thankful worship – then ID is for you.
Blessings,
Matt Fell (ID Course Director)
