Meet the team pt2
In December we introduced just a few of the Relational Mission team members who beaver away behind the scenes to make the prayer, learning, empowerment, witnessing, pioneering and events in our family happen. Today we meet four more:
Name: Penny Taylor
Home: Aylsham, Norfolk
Church: Aylsham Community Church
Role in RM: PA to Mike Betts/Administrator
My story: I became a Christian aged 8 and it’s been a great adventure since then. I’m married to James and mum to three fantastic teenage boys! I studied Business and German at Brighton Uni (where I met James). Since then I’ve been a typist, a legal PA, an insurance claims team manager and a piano teacher. Six years ago, I qualified as a primary school teacher and recently finished an MA Ed. Alongside my role in RM, I teach music in a local school one day per week. I am frequently amazed when I see how God has used every part of my seemingly random career path in equipping me for the things I do now.
I love music, languages, reading, puzzles, and learning - you’ll find me on LEAD at the moment!
Name: Vicky Tyce
Home: Aylsham, Norfolk
Church: Aylsham Community Church
Role in RM: Finance Manager and Events Assistant
My story: I grew up in a Christian home and made my personal commitment to Jesus at Spring Harvest when I was 10. I'm married to Luke and I'm blessed to be mum to my two gorgeous girls. I have an awesome testimony of God healing me from cancer and I'm constantly amazed at the conversations this opens up with non-Christian friends and family, and the way God continues to work through my story. Having trained and worked as a chartered accountant in a professional practice setting for over 15 years, it is now exciting to be able to use my skills in my role as Finance Manager with RM.
Name: Angie Hope
Home: Norwich
Church: King's Community Church
Role in RM: Administrator
My story: I work very part time - attempting to 'administer' my husband, Goff, and his diary! (I enjoy a challenge!!) I have recently retired from a part time job working at Norwich University of the Arts as a Dyslexia Tutor which was a fantastic job, working one to one with students, helping them to plan, shape and write their essays and dissertations. We have lived in Norwich for almost 30 years and have been privileged to see how God has blessed and built the church at King's. We continue to enjoy serving the people at King's, as well as further afield in various churches in RM.
Name: Jennie Pollock
Home: London
Church: Grace London (an Advance church)
Role in RM: Media and Comms Coordinator
My story: I grew up in a Christian home, accepted Jesus when I was 8, and have never looked back. I was a missionary for ten years, travelling around the world with OM (Operation Mobilisation) and have been a shop assistant, a teacher, a road manager for a Christian band (such fun!), an administrator, a communications editor and a finance assistant. Nowadays I’m a freelance writer and editor, alongside working part time for RM, and can clearly see how God’s hand has led me so far and how he uses every experience for his plan.
