As followers of Jesus, we have the amazing honour and privilege to be included together on God’s mission, “to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ” (Ephesians 1 v 10). We have a calling to live a life that is larger than ourselves, a life that under God’s gracious providence will make an eternal difference.
Hospitality is often a much richer and more significant practice in countries from which international students come. Sadly, the cold British weather is often associated with a chilly reception felt by many arriving from overseas to the UK. How can Christians show them the hospitality of Jesus?
O Holy Night has the lyrics, “The thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices!” Jesus has arrived and now Christians have hope. But what about our neighbours? How can we, as those who know the love of God, be a part of joining with Him as He breaks into a weary world? Sometimes, amidst the tinsel, preparation and family politics it’s difficult to know where to begin.
